At the top of the bill is written: “GUTSCHEIN No091887 APENRADE” on a crème colored background with “No091887” in a small box.
Below is a large brown rectangle with a crème colored shield in the center. On the shield are three herrings arranged vertically and facing left. On either side of the shield in blue font is the number “50” with the Pfennig symbol (“₰”) beneath it.
Beneath this on a crème color background is written: DER MAGISTRAT. Beneath this is the signature of the magistrate. In the center is the town seal of the three herring shield inside a circle, with the words: “-STADT-APENRADE-“. To the side of this is written: “DAS STADTV. KOLL” with a signature beneath it.
