  On reverse: April, 1962 - Kampong Jinteh - Semai. Serebum holds a parang in her right hand, and a tapioca stalk in her left hand. She is cutting the stalk into 4 - 5" pieces which will later be planted. The young boy is her son Hamit and the young girl is Serebum's sister's child. Ladang. 307

  On reverse: April, 1962 - Kampong Jinteh. Semai. This Semai woman is placing a piece of ubi kayu stalk in a hole in the ground. It is unusual that a boy of this child's age - 6 or 7 - should not wear any clothes but this is a "problem child." Ladang. 313

  On reverse: April, 1962 - Kampong Jinteh. Semai. Serebun is cutting tapioca stalks which will later be planted. Note flowers in her hair, bare breasts, beads worn draped over one breast = all frequently seen with Semai women. Note her squatting position - she is not sitting on the ground. Ladang. 306.

  On reverse: April, 1962. Kampong Jinteh - Semai. 241. Three women and a man walking up the River Jinteh to go fishing. The women will use the baskets they carry called senqein. Note the dog accompanying them. Frequently dogs will hunt out a frog.

  On reverse: April, 1962. Kampong Jinteh - Semai. 239. This child is a girl about 10 named Perankub, she is in the small river Jinteh. She has lifted a tubular piece of wood out of the water and is looking in it for fish. One of the less effective ways of fishing. Note the bulge in the back of her sarong: she is carrying tobacco and leaves for making cigarettes.

  On reverse: April, 1962 - Kampong Jinteh - Semai. 312. A Semai family planting ubi kayu (tapioca) in the ladanq. The woman is carrying a raga (basket) containing pieces of ubi kayu stalk to be planted. The man holds a pole which is plunged in the ground at an angle to make a hole for the ubi kayu stalk. She is wearing a blouse to protect her from the many insects. Setip - Serebun - Hamit

  On reverse: April 1962 - Kampong Jinteh Semai 377. Girl child Serebun bathing in the River Jinteh. Note the string she wears around her hips - the children wear these just for play - and notice the way her hands are placed so as to cover her pubic area - she is about 10 yrs. and is becoming really concious of the need to cover her pubic area. Sometimes she forgets. A young boy stands to her left. At this age boys and girls can bathe together
