Dear Gg, Flo & Jim,
My first day back in harness was rather easy. After a comparatively easy morning, I loafed in the afternoon.

The company clerk advised me to visit the finance office to pick up my allotment money. Well, to make the story short – No money – vouchers, (affidavits) still not submitted to Washington. However, same was taken care of today.

The old place is still the same, only more so. One consolation though – double timing has been done away with. Instead we march at a cadence of 130 per minute – I’d rather double time.

Coming into the immediate proximity of the camp was most disheartening. The south just isn’t for me. I really wish I could manage a change; but same is still very obscure.

I feel fine and dandy, and am looking forward to two weeks on the range commencing on Sunday morning. We hike 18 miles to the range – Some fun!

It sure was swell being home – even though the days fairly flew by. I know I could “force” another furlough, as of right away.

Hope to be able to write from range. Am quite certain same is possible --

Trusting all’s well with that good old handshake ----
