On reverse: April, 1962 - Kampong Jinteh - Semai. Kloh and Perankub show the markings on their faces - this facial painting (GEMNEM) is a common activity among the women and men. The black is charcoal from the fire and the white is chalk or lime. Kloh is learning to 'do' herself but Perankub relies on a woman to make her up. 593
