- Classroom environments have a large influence on students' ability to succeed in schooling. This is due to various influences, which are often overlooked. These influences that contribute to ones learning environment and students success (physical education, positive adult figures, and early exposure) provide opportunities for students to adapt and apply learning within different contexts. Early integration of social, emotional, and physical developmental provides foundation skills that are crucial to children's future as they enter the elementary classroom. These areas contribute to a child's ability to adapt to various situations and to apply this knowledge to future situations. Through times of unstructured play and recess, children are able to express themselves and to test boundaries. Relationships formed with their teachers at all levels of education help students grow both socially and emotionally. Additionally, our research explores the impact of gender roles of teachers on student learning and development. Our collective research on preschool effectiveness, classroom environment, and structured versus unstructured play are significant factors, which play a role in student achievement and life outcomes.
