- Living in Poland and studying at Jagiellonian University were among the greatest educational experiences of our collective lives. Krakow was a perfect intellectual hub, allowing easy and inexpensive travel to key historical sites throughout Europe. Living in a culture and country that was not our own stretched our understanding of the world; it enriched each of us, not only as students, but as global citizens. While recognizing our role as Americans, it was our role as foreigners that most impacted us. The necessity of learning a foreign language while being immersed in a different culture, especially one that's been a focus of our studies in Keene, is profound. We were fundamentally changed by our semester in Poland. As a group we will focus on different aspects of our time in Poland, academics, living in Krakow, traveling in Europe, encountering Auschwitz under the overarching theme of academic enrichment through study abroad.
