- Thiosemicarbazones are a general class of organic molecules with the ability to bind to a metal. The objective of the study was to systematically synthesize a number of novel thiosemicarbazones and analyze how the structural changes affect their biological activity in practices such as anti-bacterial, anti-parasitic, and anti-tumoral applications. These metal complexes are equipped with structural characteristics that may make them effective anti-cancer drugs. There is a need for new molecules to be made to determine what features of a molecule make it an effective drug candidate. Here, we report the synthetic procedure and characterization of two new thiosemicarbazone ligands with potential biological activity.
