Gentlemen
Wm Stewart of Amherst that was appointed an Ensign for Rhode Island Expedition declines going - beg that the bearer Lt. Moses Barron one of the Lieutenants in an Amherst Company May have the Ensigns Commm for Sd. Expeion it will be Very pleasing to the men - and His Caracter Stands Very fair & unblemished Beg he may have one Month advance pay I have given orders for Capt. Emerson Company To march on Tuesday ye. 27. Inst we are in a Tolerable way to Raise the Continental men Hope there will not be many behinde by Monday Next Genlm I Rem. your Very Huml. Svt.
