The Charles Wilcox Papers belong to the Keene, New Hampshire resident who was a Union soldier during the Civil War and was captured and imprisoned in Confederate internment camps as well as prisons from 1864-1865. These papers include Wilcox’s diary, correspondence, and official documents. The papers are part of the archival holdings of the Historical Society of Cheshire County in Keene, New Hampshire, and were included as part of the NH Citizens Archivists' Initiative.

On reverse: April, 1962 - Kampong Jinteh - Semai. Serebum cutting tapioca stalks in the ladang. Her son Hamit stands near. Note the way she arranges her sarong over her knees when squatting. This is formalized and all the Semai women do it the same way. 309
On reverse: JAH HUT ** Rice Bin This piece of bark, collected at the same time as the rice bin bark, is too short to be use for a bin and may wind up as house-siding. The man is flattening the slab by placing heavy poles at each end.
On reverse: JAH HUT Panjang, a shaman, and his graddaughter, who is "congenitally timid" (hati takut). In the right BG is the chicken coop of earlier pictures, with our biscuit tin replacing the bamboo slats formerly used. Center and left BG: sprouting coconuts. Note that the little girl wears a string tied just below her abdomen with a little cloth over the pubic area. Also, the front part of her head is shaven.
On reverse: My Darling Ruthie, The dance in Wheeling over two years ago, the Playhouse just before I went into the USAF, that time you all drove up to Sampson, my birthday party with you, the way you always get moody (sometimes).
