The Charles Wilcox Papers belong to the Keene, New Hampshire resident who was a Union soldier during the Civil War and was captured and imprisoned in Confederate internment camps as well as prisons from 1864-1865. These papers include Wilcox’s diary, correspondence, and official documents. The papers are part of the archival holdings of the Historical Society of Cheshire County in Keene, New Hampshire, and were included as part of the NH Citizens Archivists' Initiative.
On reverse: PJ 29.11.91 11:02 #8 Cacat has joined cubun in stringing rice & red kayu stems. Lbat finishes 4th long section, begins smoothing & shaping the 1st of the shorter pieces. He puts a hole in each of the four longer pieces, then (picture) fits shorter pieces into overlapping holes in two longer arms.
On reverse: PJ 29.11.91 10:21 #5 Lbat splitting cnrad which he just got. He cuts one end flat and rests it on the trunk while (see #6) he whittles (-tarah) both sides of each 1/4 stick, removing greenish-grey bark & dark core, giving it 2 flat sides.
