The Charles Wilcox Papers belong to the Keene, New Hampshire resident who was a Union soldier during the Civil War and was captured and imprisoned in Confederate internment camps as well as prisons from 1864-1865. These papers include Wilcox’s diary, correspondence, and official documents. The papers are part of the archival holdings of the Historical Society of Cheshire County in Keene, New Hampshire, and were included as part of the NH Citizens Archivists' Initiative.

On reverse: #2 cook tnak - dart poison BS and pal has transplanted to area by the poison cookery (prep. Of poison this way = br - n - ced, "cooking") This is tnak ceb, sez Pgh., vs. t. mnhar - for birds, not beasts. [later - he sez t. mnhar is wrong; it's t. prook, small mammal/rodent (prook) tnak.
On reverse: 2/2/92 Beib Cnagoh dips some more skin into the jalok, then stirs the residue in the wok, looking for new skin to form, which by 11:05 it hadn't. He blows gently on the liquid, stirs w/jning held curved along the curve of the wok for ca. a minute until the new skin form. 11:10 "this rook is nineij" - poison is n.g. He collects the thick residue in a clump on the jnin and scrapes in into the jalok
On reverse: 2/2/92 10:30 #8 BC takes some cooked tnak out of its own poison tube (jalok) and stirs it into the dook w/its own stir stick, jnin. He's "marrying" (-nikah) tnak and dook
On reverse: 2/2/92 10:59 Beib Cnagoh has warmed the new jalok (poison tube) in the fire, wiped it w/betel-vine leaf. He lifts the skin off the boiling poison on the central spine of a bltop (Eugeissona tristis) leaf [the tool = jnin] from which the skin dangles like a line from a fishing pole, then lowers it into the jalok, stirring lightly and then scraping residue off the tip. Repeat 2x
On reverse: 2/2/92 10:31 #9 BC takes more tnak onto his jnin to put in the dook. In this "nikah" (wedding) dook wd. Be [male symbol], tnak [female symbol], because dook poison is stronger
