George and Florence Stoff Letters

George and Florence Stoff Letters

The George and Florence Stoff Letters consists of some 1200 letters accompanied by newspaper clippings and postcards. The majority of the letters are written between husband and wife, George and Florence Stoff, covering the period of 1937 to 1945. The letters offer a rare, intimate view of home and military life for a Jewish-American family during the tumultuous period of the Second World War. The letters displayed here were digitized by Mylynda Gill (KSC Class 2016). The transcriptions were compiled by students from the course "Archiving War" (IHHGS 399) taught by Professor Emily Robins-Sharpe.
