Biography

Patricia Fargnoli began her professional writing career in 1999 with her first book Necessary Light, which won the May Swenson Poetry Prize that same year. Other publications include: Then, Something (Tupelo Press, 2009), Duties of the Spirit (Tupelo Press, 2005), Small Songs of Pain (Pecan Grove Press, 2003), and Winter (Hobblebrush Books, 2013). Fargnoli is a member of the New Hampshire Writer’s Project and the Monadnock Pastoral Poets, among others. She has won the Robert Frost Foundation Poetry Award, has been nominated for five Pushcart awards, and has served as a Macdowell Colony fellow and a member of the Dorset Colony. Description of Collection

The Patricia Fargnoli Papers consist of 8 boxes of archival material dating from 1957 to 2015. The papers include manuscripts and editor's notes, correspondence, reviews, clippings, legal records, event pamphlets and programs, and a series of records on the New Hampshire Children's Poetry Program.
