Marie Harris is the author of three books of poetry: Raw Honey (1975), Interstate (1980), and Weasel in the Turkey Pen (1993). She has also published a prose/poem memoir Your Sun, Manny (1999), and three children's books: The Girl Who Heard Colors (2013), G Is for Granite (2002), and Primary Numbers (2004). Harris is a member of a number of arts organizations, including the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts and the New Hampshire Writers & Publishers Project. She has won a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship and a New Hampshire State Council on the Arts Fellowship, among other honors. She was named New Hampshire Poet Laureate from 1999 to 2004. The Marie Harris Papers consist of 21 document boxes of archival material dating from 1943 to 2012. They include correspondence; biographical material; poetry and prose writing; clippings; and her planners and journals, including those from her world travels.
