Prerequisite: Admission to Teacher Education or admission to Physical Education Teacher Certification option. Fall, Spring, Summer. PROPOSED (NEW) COURSE TITLE: No change PROPOSED (NEW) COURSE DESCRIPTION: EDSP 202 DEVELOPMENT, EXCEPTIONALITY AND LEARNING Study of typical and atypical cognitive, language, physical, social/emotional development; roles of general and special educators in educating all students; the special education process; collaborative approaches to team planning for inclusive school environments. Admission to Teacher Education or Physical Education Teacher Certification option or Music Education program required for enrollment. Prerequisite: EDUC 100. Fall, Spring, Summer. (50 words) LEARNING OUTCOMES: No change – on file. RATIONALE: This change is being proposed in response to a request from the Registrar’s Office to make prerequisites enforceable at the time of registration. Admission to Teacher Education program processes occur between semesters and are therefore not enforceable at time of registration. By placing the expectation that admission to the appropriate program must occur prior to enrollment in the course, we are informing students of this requirement while making the actual prerequisite one that can be checked during on-line registration.
