You may copy the information electronically from the KSC Web page: ESEC 150 DEVELOPMENT, EXCEPTIONALITY AND LEARNING I* Development, learning, and diversity of children (birth through the primary grades) from developmental, special educational, and multicultural perspectives. Focus on interaction among children, families, and schools. Prerequisite: ESEC 100 (must be taken ESEC 250 DEVELOPMENT, EXCEPTIONALITY AND LEARNING II Development, learning, and diversity of children and adolescents (intermediate grades through high school) from developmental, special educational, and multicultural perspectives. Shifts perspectives from college student to beginning educator using a professional framework. Prerequisite: ESEC 100 and ESEC 150. Fall, Spring, Summer ESEC 281 EMERGING/EVOLVING LITERACY* Practical approaches to creating literacy environments in which children can grow and develop as listeners, speakers, readers, and writers. Emphasis on addressing the diverse needs of learners using curricular and technological adaptations across the curriculum. Prerequisite: Admission to Teacher Education. Fall, Spring RATIONALE: This is follow-up to the transition plan for the Education program curriculum that was submitted with the curriculum change package in fall 2006.
